The Family Learning Team work in partnership with schools across North Ayrshire to provide opportunities for family learning. We have developed this site, using information from the partners we work with, to provide ideas and links that we believe support fun learning at home. Our team organise and deliver workshops in schools throughout the year and in the community during school holidays. If there are any particular areas of the curriculum you are interested in, please contact your family learning worker or speak to your child's head teacher. We are also happy to work with individual families, from a one off meeting to supporting families over a few sessions.
We focus on:
Transition- Moving into Primary 1 and moving on to Secondary.
Curricular Areas- Literacy, Numeracy, Languages, STEM
Health and Wellbeing- Cooking, Fun clubs, Managing emotions
Adult Learning- working closely with Ayrshire college and Community Learning & Development to provide community courses.

Live online sessions
In response to current guidance, we are providing live online sessions for parents and families using the platform VScene. We recommend using a laptop or computer if possible, alternatively you can download the free VScene app. Being online can be temperamental due to different reasons e.g. number of users or internet strength, if you are ever cut off from a live session then please rejoin using the original link sent. Please read our guidance below and watch our videos to provide an idea of what Vscene is like if you haven't used it before.
